Farewell Rev.Fr.Shiran

 

 

                   Rev.Fr.B.A.Shiran bade farewell to St.Sebastian’s College on the 12th of Septumber 2008 after having served For 5 years,(since September 2003). He left for Italy( Nothern University of Milan) to do higher studies in the field of Moral Theology.

                   A farewell ceremony was organized to mark the occasion  by the Primary school staff and students. The proceedings began with the solemn Eucharistic celebration with Rev,Fr.Shiran as the chief celebrant and the rest of the fathers as co- celebrants. Rev.Fr.Daya who delivered the homily asked the students to show how much  they loved their shepherd expecting them to show how much they loved by extending their hands; but to his surprise the students spontaneously replied that they could not do so in physical terms .This response expressed the deep attachment and love they had for Rev.Fr.Shiran

                                    The variety entertainment programme was very colourful.

A student of years 5, master Rumil Wickramaratne and one of the primary school terchers, Mr. Lakshantha Ferdinando expressed words of gratitude and love for their shepherd. In his farewell speech Rev.Fr.Shiran said he was very happy during his stay at St.Sebastian’s and that he is leaving with many fond memories and without a single regret or ill feeling toward anything or anyone.

                                    Rev.Fr.B.A.Shiran served the college as the primary school Director for 4 years. He was also the Father-in-charge of Sport ,the Computer Society, the media Society and the Scouts. Rev.Fr.Daya Dharshana will be taking over the leadership from Rev.Fr.Shiran and will become the new primary school Director ,and the new Father-in-charge of sport .Rev.Fr.Manoranjan will be taking over the new responsibility to guide the Computer Society and the media Society .Rev.Fr.Candappa will be the Father-in-charge of Scouts.

                                    We wish God’s choicest blessings upon Rev.Fr.Shiran and pray that God will use him mightily in his vineyard.
