Technology behind the site

This web site is a dynamic site, designed using Active Server Pages (ASP) technology with database integration. This site is developed to be easily maintained with less knowledge in web programming using the specially designed site administration panel which is only available for the administrator of the website.
Most of the possible cosmetics are dropped to give the site cross-browser compatibility so that the site can reach a wider audience.
Most parts of this site is hand coded, making it more advanced yet accessible from more browsers in deferent operating systems.
The events calendar and the virtual tour are some of the unique features in this site. The virtual tour is constructed with FLASH MX using programmed components specially for the site. It will be improved in the near future.
The current site is capable of upgrading and updating itself up to some extent without any user interaction.

 
People Behind the site

By no mean’s this was an easy task. We had to overcome major difficulties that at a stage even we thought this would be impossible. Our developing team led by Rumesh Paranavithana (a Database on Web Developing) did all of the backend work of the website and the designing work. Primal Wijesekera did all of the work on information provided in the website. Laminda Nimesh (The Typing Machine) and Nadun Peries (The slim body builder) did most of the typing work. Gayanath Perera (well known for his punctuality), Sasika Adesh (Pissa) and Shanaka Fernando (The eating machine) also helped a lot in numerous ways.
Special note of thanks should go to Rev.Fr.Silvestor Ranasinghe for his guidance, Mr.Thilak De Silva and Mr. Earle .N.S Fernando (who are valuable assets to the college) for providing priceless information regarding the history. We should also thank Mr.Ananda Nagahage who is in-charge of college computer lab for his support
